A successful Leigh based company we are helping to move Leigh into a new era based on regeneration, job creation and enhanced image.

The company having now almost fully let its latest landmark office block, Beswick House following on from the highly successful Stewart House project, the final piece in the current jigsaw is in place. The result of effort over the years can be seen in the high quality premises that have been constructed on the Leigh Commerce Park, Greenfold Way.

Orford and its construction arm Wilfred Lloyd and Associates Ltd have created a prestigious site which, when fully complete, will result in over 600 staff being employed, bringing further prosperity to an area already moving forward.

It all started 35 years ago when Wilfred Lloyd Associates was established by Wilfred Lloyd and Albert Gornall.

They began in a modest way, undertaking building and civil engineering contract work and progressed to work for local authorities and housing associations.

Five years ago we set up Orford Investments Limited at Orford Court, Greenfold Way, Leigh. Which is a fabulous location within easy reach of the East Lancashire Road and the motorway network.

The most recent development is Stewart House, which was officially opened in May 2005. The building consists of a state of the art, air conditioned 16,000sq ft office block ranging over three storeys.

The final phase has just commenced – Beswick House, which will mirror Stewart House and is already attracting interest from major companies within the borough.

As for the future, we will continue to source development sites preferably in the Leigh area.

It is Orford’s intention to attract even more investments and with that generate even more employment which will reinforce the already positive commercial and retail community that has been created by the numerous well-established companies that currently reside on the Leigh Commerce Park.
